The Detestable Act of Abortion Shows Insight on our Nation

Anyone who is a dog owner has had that moment when they catch their dog drinking from the toilet bowl.  Upon admonishment, the dog gives you a quizzical look that says, “Is something wrong”?

Perhaps it is an unfair comparison, and it is obviously not even in the league with things that go on in society, but it does convey the analogy that people often become so desensitized to detestable things that they not only don’t detect that their behavior is wrong, but fully believe that absolutely wrong is absolutely right.

We have seen this repeatedly during human history, case after case of man’s inhumanity to man, where one man no longer perceives another man as a human being, and thus feels no shame or remorse at the mistreatment of his counterpart.

Of course, the most prevalent example of this is one that took place during the lifetime of some of our oldest living citizens, Adolph Hitler and Germany. An acquaintance of mine who grew up in Germany during Hitler’s rise to power said that he was seen as someone who was going to save his or her nation.  At tht time Germany had suffered a humiliating defeat at the end of World War I, and was in a deep depression, both financially and mentally.

Common Sense Right to Bear Arms Bill from Senator Nathan Dahm – Senate Bill 1473

Nathan Dahm thumbnail no captionState Senator Nathan Dahm (SD-33) has filed some common sense legislation regarding the right to self-defense.

Oklahoma State Senate
Communications Division
State Capitol
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73105

For Immediate Release: January 23, 2014

Dahm says gun legislation will strengthen 2nd Amendment rights

OKLAHOMA CITY –State Sen. Nathan Dahm has filed legislation to allow law-abiding citizens to carry firearms without a license. Dahm, R-Tulsa, explained Senate Bill 1473 is an effort to reaffirm Oklahomans’ Second Amendment rights.

“The Second Amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and yet when we require our citizens to jump through hoops, pay fees and undergo a process that presumes they’re guilty of something until proven otherwise, their rights are being infringed upon,” Dahm said. “Senate Bill 1473 simply says Oklahomans can carry firearms in all the places currently allowed by law, but they will no longer be required to obtain a license to do so.”

Under SB 1473, a person age 18 or older would be able to open carry loaded or unloaded shotguns, rifles and pistols without a license for hunting, target shooting or other such events. It would also be allowed for events related to military or law enforcement functions; for practice or performance for entertainment purposes; or for lawful self-defense purposes.

Places where guns are currently prohibited, such as schools and government facilities, would continue to be off-limits for firearms.

“Oklahomans will still be able to get a license so they could carry in other states that allow reciprocity,” Dahm said. “They just won’t have to have a license in Oklahoma to carry.”

If approved, Dahm’s legislation, also known as the “Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act” would become effective on November 1, 2014.

OK-SAFE 2013 in Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 13,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

IRS Sets Penalties for non-participation in “Obama Care” insurance reform

Filed under: Exposing Health Care Reform, OK Grassroots, OK-SAFE — Tags: , , , , , — oksafeinc @ 1:28 pm

OK-SAFE, Inc. – Another argument in favor of eliminating the IRS (aka the Infernal Revenue Service): imposing penalties for not buying a product (health insurance).

To read the HHS final rule from the federal register click here.

To read the US Dept. of Treasure Fact Sheet click here.

From Fierce HealthPayer:

IRS sets penalties for patients who skip reform coverage
By Alicia Caramenico

August 28, 2013
The Internal Revenue Service has finalized penalties for individuals who do not obtain health insurance under healthcare reform.

Under the final rules, the shared responsibility payment for not maintaining essential coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is based on the greater of either a flat dollar amount or a percentage of household income over the taxpayer’s applicable filing threshold.

The penalty for not obtaining coverage is $95 per person or 1 percent of household income in 2014 and jumps to $325 or 2 percent of income in 2015. In 2016, the IRS will fine nonexempt individuals without coverage either $695 or 2.5 percent of household income. After 2016, the penalty will be determined by a cost-of-living formula.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates less than 2 percent of Americans will forgo coverage and owe a shared responsibility payment, according to an IRS fact sheet released Wednesday.

Individuals have minimum essential coverage for a calendar month if they’re enrolled in or covered by a health plan for at least one day during that month, according to the final rules. The IRS noted the one-day rule will ease administrative burdens for both taxpayers and the agency.

The IRS final rules do make some exceptions to the individual mandate. Those who will not have to make a shared responsibility payment include:

Individuals who cannot afford coverage;
Taxpayers with income below the filing threshold;
Members of Indian tribes;
Individuals who suffer hardship;
Individuals who experience short coverage gaps;
Members of religious sects or divisions;
Members of a healthcare sharing ministry;
Incarcerated individuals; and
Individuals who are not lawfully present.
“These rules will ease implementation and help ensure that the payment applies only to the limited group of taxpayers who choose to spend a substantial period of time without coverage despite having ready access to affordable coverage,” the agency said in the fact sheet.

The new rules come a month after the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives voted to delay the individual mandate for a year. The vote largely followed party lines with 22 Democrats among the 251 votes in favor of delaying the individual mandate while 174 voted against it, FierceHealthcare previously reported.

The IRS has taken some heat this year, thanks to the revelation that agency employees singled out conservative groups for harsh tax-exemption scrutiny. The IRS scandal strengthened the Republican fight against the Affordable Care Act and their complaints of government overreach.

School to Teach Drone-Hunting

Filed under: Education, OK Grassroots, OK-SAFE, Surveillance Society — Tags: , , , — oksafeinc @ 10:08 pm

OK-SAFE, Inc. – Well, now for something completely different – a class on drone-hunting.  Looks like we are not the only ones irritated by the spy-drones.

From a post on the Product Design & Development website, this story out of Iran:

School to Teach Drone-Hunting to Students
Mon, 08/19/2013 – 7:19am
The Associated Press

Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guards paramilitary units plan to teach drone-hunting to school students, an Iranian newspaper reported Monday.

The report by pro-reform Etemad daily quoted Gen. Ali Fazli, acting commander of the Guard’s Basij militia, as saying the new program will be taught as part of a “Defensive Readiness” lesson in high schools from late September.

He did not elaborate but the plan suggests students would be taught how to track and bring down drone aircraft by hacking their computer systems.

Iranian hardliners have long sought a larger role for the military in the country’s education system. Students at both junior and senior high schools currently take courses focusing on “civil defense.”

Iran captured a U.S. RQ-170 Sentinel drone in 2011 after it entered Iranian airspace. Since then, Tehran says it has seized more U.S. drones, including a Boeing Co.-designed ScanEagle.

Help Stop Common Core in Oklahoma – Calls Needed!

OK-SAFE, Inc. – By now everyone knows how dangerous the Common Core State Standards are for our children and state education.  (See here, here, here, here, and here.)

Everyone, that is, except OK Governor Mary Fallin, State Superintendent Janet Barresi, and Senator John Ford.

It appears that OK Speaker T.W. Shannon has come out against the Common Core state standards and is willing to run legislation (hopefully this session) to repeal one of the components of this egregious education system.  (HB 1719 may end up being the legislative vehicle for the repeal of the Common Core standards bill, but that has not been confirmed as of this writing.)

Please call your Senator and Representative and tell them you want Common Core repealed in Oklahoma.  Especially, call and email Pro-Tem Brian Bingman and Sen. John Ford and tell them to say YES to the repeal of the Common Core in Oklahoma.

  • Senate Pro-Tem Brian Bingman   405-521-5528   Email: bingman@oksenate.gov
  • Sen. John Ford                                 405-521-5634  Email: fordj@oksenate.gov

See this important message from ROPE (Restore Oklahoma Public Education), dated 5/16/13:

WE NEED YOUR HELP IMMEDIATELY!

A bill to separate Oklahoma from the Common Core could be coming to a vote in the Senate early next week! Remember the legislature is attempting to be out of session by next Wednesday or Thursday, so now is crunch time! Call and/or email your Senator IMMEDIATELY and ask them to pass ANY bill that comes to the senate that STOPS the Common Core. As you know, our previous bills to stop the Common Core have been prevented from being allowed even a hearing in either the House or Senate Education Committees by Representative Ann Coody and Senator John Ford.

House Speaker T.W. Shannon has now come out against the Common Core setting the tone for the House! Shannon announced Thursday that with just two weeks left in the legislative session he is unveiling a measure to repeal a 2010 law that requires common core to be implemented by Oklahoma school districts.

Please thank him via phone call 405-557-7374,   Email: tw.shannon@okhouse.gov or post to his Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/twshannon?ref=ts&fref=ts).

A bill to STOP the Common Core MUST FINALLY GET A HEARING in the Senate.

Please contact the following senators INCLUDING your own! Email, call, do whatever you can to let your voice be heard telling them, “COMMON CORE IS NOT OK!”

A J Griffin                                 405-521-5628  Email: griffin@oksenate.gov

OK-SAFE Background Information – Linking Education Reform and Health Care Reform

There are no accidents in politics.  While the state of Oklahoma was implementing “ObamaCare” compliant health care reform, (Electronic Health Records, OHIET, etc.), education reform was running on a parallel track, instituted via SB 222 in 2009 (P-20 Data Council) and SB 2033 in 2010 (K-12 Common Core). These bills had the support of Republican leadership.

Think these data systems are to be kept separate?  Look at this diagram describing what the Statewide “Identify as a Service” federated identity management system (federated = single-sign on accesses several systems) would look like.  It clearly links the Department of Education system and the Department of Human Services systems.  (Diagram is from a ppt entitled “Federated ID Management & SICAM in Oklahoma HHS Agencies”, dated July 2011, accessed through OHCA records.)  More information in that power point included linking together other state agencies/systems into one interconnected system.  These agencies have information sharing agreements with agencies and entities outside the state.  Feel better now?

OHIET: Statewide Identity as a Service slide FIM SICAM ppt

The Common Core “standards” concept came out of the same tech-cesspool as the ObamaCare “standards”.  In both sectors the “standards” have nothing to do with actual education or health care.  They have everything to do with the “standards” that enable these technology systems (i.e. “standardized” computer hardware and software systems technology) to be interoperable.  They are to be interconnected one with another. The standardized, interconnected technology systems are what enable an electronic “cradle-to-grave” (longitudinal) record on every single person.

For an idea of what this means for the people of this state, of this country, see the OK-SAFE image below from our pending power point presentation entitled The Architecture Defines the Policy.
